The Basic Cardiac Dysrhythmia program is a three-day workshop designed to assist the student in acquiring the knowledge and skills essential for identifying basic arrhythmias. The workshop content includes basic anatomy and physiology of the heart, electrophysiology, ECG tracing componets and a step by step guide to rhythm strip analysis with over 600 practice rhythm strips. Introducion to sinus, atrial, ventricular, junctional arrhythmias, AV and bundle branch blocks and cardiac pacing. Each rhythm is by description with examples, causes, and management protocaols. Current ACLS guidelines are incorporated as applicable to the rhythm discussion.

Successful completion of the workshop is achieved through participation in all workshop activities and successful completion of the pre and post course exam - rhythm strip identification and measurments.

Intended Audience - Healthcare personel whose job responsibilities require recognition, identification, and measurement of cardiac arrhytmias.
