Chemotherapy & Biotherapy

This two-day program focuses on the theoretical knowledge base needed to administer chemotherapy and biotherapy, including cellular kinetics, drug classifications, safe handling, administration, management of side effects and patient teaching strategies. Case studies relating to the theoretical principles will also be presented.

 

Contact Hours or Certification Received: 13.5 CE hours and a Chemotherapy Provider Card after successful completion of the course and post-test - from The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).

Intended Audience: Participants should be licensed nurses who have been employed as such for a minimum of six months. The course content is appropriate for nurses who are new to chemotherapy administration, as well as for those who want a comprehensive review. It is also appropriate for nurses who do not administer chemotherapy, but may provide post-treatment care for oncology patients.
