This class is designed to instruct the intensive care nurse in how to perform Chronic Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) or "bedside dialysis".
It uses lecture and equipment set up to learn the functions and procedures of CRRT.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify indications and contraindications for CRRT versus intermittent dialysis therapy
- Identify the components of the NxStage System 2 dialysis system and demonstrate proper use and care of the machine
- Discuss safe and effective care of the patient undergoing CRRT
- Demonstrate proper alarm management
