Goal: To improve the delivery of diabetes care by enhancing the skills and knowledge of clinical staff that supports the care for individuals with diabetes utilizing class lecture, power point presentation and demonstration.

Learning Objectives:

· Describe importance of glycemic control

· Identify hospital environment factors that contribute to hyper and hypoglycemia

· Identify pharmacologic treatments- insulin regimens and oral agents

· Demonstrate the use of the insulin pump functions and hospital policy knowledge
