The ACLS Course reflects the new science in the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR.
ACLS is an advanced, Instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. Skills are taught in a large group session and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.
Course content includes:
BLS HCP skills
Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest and peri-arrest such as symptomatic bradycardia
Airway management and related pharmacology
Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) and stroke management.
Requirements:
AHA ACLS Student Manual 2015
AHA BLS HCP Card-current
AHA online Pre Test Certificate- 70% score requirement- bring this certificate to the class
Course Completion: 84% minimum written exam and skills scenario completion
Course Completion Card is valid for two years
Intended Audience- Healthcare Providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers who are responsible for the assessment and management of pre cardiac arrest, cardiac arrest, post arrest care and stroke and are required to have the ACLS Course Completion Card for their position.
