The Hemodynamic Monitoring course is a one-day program designed to introduce the student to the waveforms and readings obtained with hemodynamic monitoring equipment. Specific areas discussed include Systemic Arterial monitoring, and Pulmonary Arterial Catheters revealing Right Atrial, Right Ventricular, Pulmonary Arterial, and Pulmonary Capillary Wedge readings. Cardiac output measurements and the calculated cardiovascular parameters of cardiac index, vascular resistance, and stroke work indices are presented in detail. Through case studies, students have opportunity to apply the information learned in the program to actual patient care decisions. Certificates of participation are presented at the conclusion of the workshop.
