This course will teach you the basic of caring for an open heart patient, from the preoperative period through discharge.

Includes overview of the immediate post-op period, hemodynamics, commonly used drips, roles and expectations during emergent sternotomy, common respiratory issues, care on POD 1 and beyond, blood glucose management, pre-op teaching, and a question and answer session with a surgeon.
