Pediatric Advanced Life Support – American Heart Association (AHA)

  • Full Provider - 2 Day class format for first time providers
  • Renewal - 1 Day class format for renewing providers with a current AHA  ACLS card
 

Description:

The PALS program reflects the 2015 AHA Guidelines Training Materials. 

This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR.

The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. This classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce these important concepts:

  • Systematic approach to pediatric assessment
  • Basic Life Support
  • PALS treatment algorithms
  • Effective resuscitation and team dynamics
  • Learning stations for practice scenarios that encourage active participation
  • Hands-on class format to reinforce skill proficiency
  •  

Required for Class Admission:

  • AHA PALS 2015 Student Manual 
  • Unexpired AHA BLS Card
  • AHA online Pre Course Certificate- 75% score requirement- bring with you or take a pic w/ phone to show instructor.
  •  

Required to Receive Completion Card:

  • All of the above pre-course admission requirements
  • 84% minimum written exam and successful skills scenario demonstrations.
  •  

Intended Audience- Healthcare Providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers who are responsible for the assessment and management of emergencies infants and children and are required to hold a PALS Course Completion card for their position.
